The Educational Cost Index (ECI) results and the approved structure for an optional tuition fee increase for the academic years 2023 and 2024 have been released by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). The declaration follows a three-year stop in educational expenses to help guardians during the pandemic and recuperation period.

Scenario of Abu Dhabi Schools

The increase is calculated using the emirate’s Educational Cost Index (ECI) and individual schools’ Irtiqaa inspection scores in conjunction with the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

Schools with a “Very Good” rating are eligible for a fee increase of 3.38 percent. Schools with an ” Outstanding ” rating qualify for a fee increase of 3.94 percent for the upcoming academic year.

Schools with an ECI score of “Good” are allowed to raise tuition by 2.71%, while schools with scores of “Acceptable,” “Weak,” or “Very weak” are only allowed to raise tuition by 2.25%.

The school must have been in operation for at least three years and adhere to the approved revised fees structure in order to be eligible for an increase in the standard tuition fee. The most recent Irtiqaa inspection results listed 11 schools as “Outstanding,” 37 as “Very good,” 85 as “Good,” 63 as “Acceptable,” and 1 as “Weak.”
