Tamil Nadu Governor Appoints Vice-Chancellors to Government Universities

RN Ravi, Governor of Tamil Nadu and Chancellor of the government universities appointed Vice-Chancellors for the three universities on Wednesday. The decision comes months after the bill empowered the state government to appoint Vice-Chancellors for state-run universities.

According to the release from Raj Bhavan, T. Arumugam was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Vellore-based Thiruvalluvar University, Mr. Ravi was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Alagappa, and N Chandrashekar was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar university.

The appointments of the Vice-Chancellors are based on the rich teaching experience, research, and administrative practices of the appointees. They excel in their field and have received many awards for the same.

The appointment period of the Vice-Chancellors is of three years, this comes to effect from the date of assumption of office by the appointees.
