Taejae University in South Korea Admits Inaugural Class Ahead of September Opening

Taejae University, Korea’s first accredited 4-year university focused on cultivating future leaders, held an entrance ceremony for its inaugural class. Among thousands of applicants, only 32 students were selected through a rigorous process to join the first cohort, chosen for their potential to become innovative and thoughtful leaders.

The university aims to nurture its students into the top 1% of global leaders, emphasizing empathy and critical thinking skills. Its unique curriculum revolves around international cooperation, with English as the sole language of instruction. An emphasis on advanced digital tools and an educational program based on Environmental, Social, and Governance further enhance its distinctive approach.

Renowned figures from the global education sector endorsed the innovative educational model. Notably, Tony F. Chan, President of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, commended Taejae University’s vision to nurture promising leaders for the betterment of humanity. June E Huh, a Fields Medal winner and Princeton University mathematics professor, advised students to embrace uncertainty.

High-profile global leaders also contributed messages to the ceremony. Ban Ki-Moon, former UN Secretary-General, hailed Taejae University as a pioneer in higher education. Lee Ju-Ho, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of South Korea expressed the nation’s anticipation for the first-class students’ growth into exceptional talent.

During their time at Taejae University, students will reside in diverse locations like Seoul, Tokyo, New York, Hong Kong, and Moscow as part of the Global Engagement Program.
