DeSantis, the Florida Governor leads the Grand Old Party (GOP)s national drive condemning public education that has lessons on sexual orientation and race.

Expressing his antipathy for the ‘woke ideology’, Florida Gov Ron DeSantis expressed his anger very strongly. The governor in an inaugural event mentioned that “Florida is where woke goes to die.” This seemed more than a political roar.

Staking the board of the well-known liberal arts college, New College of Florida, with right-wing loyalists, DeSantis has directed universities to report their diversity efforts and classes on critical race theory to his office. This got cleared last month as multiple officials appeared before the federal judge in defending DeSantis decision of suspending a local prosecutor, who was referred to by the governor as a ‘woke ideologue’. Responding as a clarification on the ‘woke’, governor’s general counsel, Ryan Newman clarified that “woke” is “the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.”

Ryan stated further that the governor does not believe systemic injustices existed in the United States of America. On his own, Ryan Newman positioned Ron DeSantis as representing the side of injustice. Asserting that DeSantis be called an “injustice denier,” similar to climate change, there isn’t any acceptable academic debate about the truth of systemic racism.

As Ron DeSantis and others lament the ‘woke indoctrination’, their point is that the schools be made as value-free zones, but the undeniable fact is that the schools teach wrong and misleading values.
