Career coaching is a dynamic and personalized process designed to empower individuals in their professional journey. And one such career coach empowering individuals with unique solutions is Khaled Taleb.

The Education View had the privilege to interview Khaled for its latest edition, ‘World’s Most Prominent Career Coaches to Follow in 2023,’ to know more about his journey.

Below are the highlights of the interview:

Tell us about your journey since its beginning.

I started my professional career as a civil engineer in 2015, but I quickly realized that it wasn’t where my true passion lay. I felt unfulfilled and knew that I needed to make a change.

In 2019, I took a leap of faith and started my first e-commerce shop, selling antiques and vintage items. I started from scratch, learning how to launch shops on platforms like WooCommerce and Shopify by watching YouTube tutorials. However, when I told my friends and family about my new venture, they were skeptical and told me that I wouldn’t succeed.

For a year, I struggled to make sales and paid the cost of running the shops myself. I realized that I needed to find a new approach, so I spent six months thinking about my strengths and what I could offer. I realized that I had a talent for consulting and teaching others, and I gained valuable experience through my e-commerce journey.

The big struggle was figuring out where to start. I took a free course on Udemy on how to create courses and then invested in good lighting and a quality camera to produce high-quality content. After three months of trying and testing, I uploaded my first course on Udemy. I discovered that LinkedIn was a great platform, but many people were not aware of its potential.

Today, I have four courses and over 1500 followers on Twitter and over 3200 followers on LinkedIn. It’s been a challenging journey, but I am proud of what I have achieved so far and excited to see what the future holds.

What inspired you to become a career coach?

I was inspired to become a career coach by my own personal experiences. I had a difficult time finding my way in my career, and I eventually found my passion in marketing. I want to help other people avoid the same struggles that I went through, and I want to help them find their passion in their careers.

I also believe that there is a great need for career coaches in today’s world. The job market is constantly changing, and it can be difficult for people to keep up with the latest trends. Career coaches can help people to identify their skills and interests and to develop a plan for their career development.

How do you stay current with the latest research and trends in the field of career coaching?

I stay current with the latest research and trends in the field of career coaching by reading industry publications, attending conferences, and taking continuing education courses. I also regularly connect with other career coaches to share ideas and best practices.

I am always looking for ways to stay ahead of the curve, and I am committed to providing my clients with the best possible service.

What challenges have you come across, and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced as a career coach is helping clients who are struggling with self-doubt. I have learned that it is important to build rapport with clients and to create a safe space where they can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. I also help clients to identify their strengths and to set realistic goals.

How do you incorporate technology into your coaching?

I incorporate technology into my coaching by using online platforms to deliver assessments, track progress, and provide resources. I also use video conferencing to meet with clients who are not located near me.

What do you believe are the most important qualities of a successful career coach?

The most important qualities of a successful career coach are empathy, listening skills, and problem-solving skills. I also believe that it is important for career coaches to be up-to-date on the latest research and trends in the field.

How do you differentiate instruction to meet the needs of different clients?

I differentiate instruction to meet the needs of different clients by using a variety of coaching methods. I might use a more traditional one-on-one coaching approach with some clients, while I might use a more group-based coaching approach with others. I also tailor my coaching style to the specific needs of each client.

For example, if a client is struggling with self-doubt, I might focus on helping them to build their confidence. If a client is looking for a new career, I might help them to identify their skills and interests and to develop a plan for their career development.

What makes you and your coaching methodology different from others?

I believe that what makes me and my coaching methodology different from others is my focus on helping clients to find their passion in their careers. I also believe that my coaching style is very client-centered, and I tailor my approach to the specific needs of each client.

Kindly mention some of your major achievements, accolades, and recognitions as a career coach

What would be your advice to people struggling to find the right career path?

There are many resources available to help you with this, such as online assessments, career counseling, and networking.

Can you shed some light on your future plans?

My future plans include continuing to grow my career coaching business and helping more people find their passion in their careers. I also plan to write a book about my experiences as a career coach.
