Karnataka CM Approves an Investment of Rs. 132 Cr for Providing Shoes and Socks to Govt. School Students

An Investment of Rs. 132 Crore is approved by Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai. This investment is made for the purpose of providing a pair of shoes and two pair of socks to the students at government school.

Due to delay in the government’s decision-making, and not allocating funds in the budget, the Bommai administration has taken the responsibility to provide the shoes and socks to students.

Karnataka CM addressing the reporters said that “Today, I have approved Rs 132 crore for shoes and socks. We will give them. There’s no need to create confusion on this.” He also added that, “When it comes to uniforms, the government has already given its approval, they are getting ready, and will be distributed to students after a while.”  By making available school essentials, Karnataka government is encouraging education among government school students.
