Educators will attend workshops on teaching in online, blended, and digital learning contexts on Thursday, August 8. On Thursday, August 8, educators from around the state will gather at St. Cloud State University for the Minnesota Learning Commons’ (MnLC) 2024 Learning and Technology Summit.
According to a SCSU media release, educators from Minnesota State University, the University of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Department of Education/Pk12 school districts will participate.
Attendees will take part in workshops on a variety of technology-related issues, including artificial intelligence, online courses, and accessibility. Many of the seminars will be led by SCSU faculty, according to a university press release.
“The summit is in line with SCSU’s efforts to promote creative and effective teaching and learning practices, and it fosters the adoption of significant technology and methodologies that can improve educational outcomes,” said Dave Blanchard, Director of SCSU Online and Distance Learning, in the media release.
MnLC hosts the event and provides assistance to educators who teach in online, blended, and digital learning contexts. The busy schedule on August 8 includes numerous courses led by SCSU teachers.
“It’s rare for education and technology specialists from these different parts of the Minnesota educational landscape to have a chance to learn from and with each other,” said Janet Tilstra, Director of SCSU’s Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. “The event offers an opportunity for a rich cross-pollination of ideas, examples of innovations that may be replicated or extended and space to discuss educational implications of emerging technologies such as AI and virtual reality,”
