The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) announced on Thursday the findings of a research on the growth of the education sector in Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan.

“We continue to improve and develop the education sector to increase the quality of education, which has a positive impact on society,” said Alimudin, OIKN’s deputy for sociocultural and community empowerment.

A group of scholars and education observers did research and training to create an educational roadmap for eight educational units in Nusantara and the surrounding area. The study’s findings were shared with school principals and supervisors, teaching staff, teachers, and other educational staff.

An educational plan for all levels of education in Nusantara is critical to ensuring that schools do not face barriers to innovation. Education in the new Indonesian capital will be tailored to the needs of students. The OIKN will also expand the number of vocational schools to generate workforce-ready individuals.

The authority will align education with partner regions, resulting in a significantly different education procedure than currently exists. “Education methods in the new capital city must be in harmony with partner or buffer regions so that there is no imbalance in human resources,” Alimudin made clear.

He went on to say that the OIKN is committed to assisting local communities in competing by expediting advances in Nusantara’s educational quality.

Nusantara Capital City Authority is a cabinet-level organization established by the Indonesian government that reports directly to the President of Indonesia. The agency will become a separate agency entrusted with overseeing and controlling Nusantara, Indonesia’s future capital on Kalimantan.
