eCampusOntario is launching Digital Campus Canada, a suite of services under which it will support the acceleration of postsecondary institutions toward Digital Transformation (Dx). The reason for such endeavors is to enroll learners into enriched digital experiences to serve their betterment grounded in evidence and research on digital technologies and pedagogical strategies.
There are rising Dx adoption strategies by Canadian higher education institutions in ways that change the processes, patterns, and processes by which individuals learn how to learn, develop their skills, interact with employers, and advance career opportunities. Robert Luke is the CEO of eCampusOntario. He said that the perception among the learners is changing, “Learners have very high expectations for their postsecondary experience. They are looking for career-focused education, as well as a digital-first learning approach. This is why we are here to help institutions empower learners with the required skills to succeed in the competitive job marketplace.”
On October 3, eCampusOntario marked its 10-year anniversary and has built a strong foundation for supporting its member institutions to achieve quality digital learning in Ontario. The launch of Digital Campus Canada now provides these crucial services to both member and non-member institutions in the country.
Rich Louttet SVP Head of Sector Transformation eCampusOntario said “We’ve had an increasing number of requests for services outside of Ontario from members.” “Digital Campus Canada helps nationalize the expansion of our Dx support-places institutions in a better position to improve their competitiveness and provide better learning experiences.”
The first products of Digital Campus Canada include Strategic Foresight and Executive Consultation which include new professional development opportunities with a forward-looking approach, future-oriented workshops, and platforms-as-a-service created to build strategic partnerships. In 2023, the guides for the eCampusOntario Digital Transformation were published, which would eventually form the basis for this project.
Luke highlighted the role Dx will play in the alignment of an institution’s supports for its learners, educators, and employers. “We are excited to partner with the institutions to facilitate these critical shifts,” he said.
With Digital Campus Canada, eCampusOntario can now drive change in the educational landscape, poised to enable institutes across Canada to meet today’s challenges of learners and the increasingly shifting job market.
