To represent its obligation to advancing quality training in Nigeria, Leadway Gathering, in organization with ActionAid Nigeria, has finished a thorough redesign of local area grade schools in Tarbutu, Bursari Neighborhood Government Region, Yobe State, North East Nigeria.
Leadway and ActionAid Leading the Way
One of Nigeria’s leading insurers and a member of the global charity movement ActionAid’s strategic corporate social responsibility (CSR) aligns with the global quest of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide access to quality education and partnership for the goals.
Through this organization, around 1,000 school-matured youngsters living in rustic and far off networks in Yobe, Northeastern State, would approach quality training in a favorable climate. The school now has six additional classrooms that can be used right away thanks to the completely refurbished learning facilities.
Leadway Holdings’ Group Chief Marketing Officer, Olusakin Labeodan, gave the following comment on the commissioning and handover event. “The corporate social responsibility of both organizations was designed to create value in society by improving access and advancing educational opportunities for indigent children, especially in remote and underserved communities.”
The 2022 report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) states that only 24.8% of Yobe State’s preschool age population has access to basic education. Additionally, the state’s literacy index is among the lowest in the nation, with only 7.6% of residents being literate.
We are aware that these most recent findings reflect the effects of regional insecurity, and it is regrettable that education, which is the foundation of human development, has been most affected.
